Overview

Job Summary:

The Director of Corporate Relations will develop and implement strategies for the College of Engineering that build and maintain relationships with corporate and industrial entities to enhance partnerships, engagement, research, philanthropy, and other academic goals as prioritized by the Dean. This includes effectively managing a portfolio of corporations and industries; meeting with corporate and industry representatives; meeting with College faculty and University Leadership; developing synergistic relations between corporations, industries, College faculty, and University Leadership; developing and submitting written proposals; and facilitating other engagement opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Dean of the College of Engineering to develop and implement engagement strategies for corporate and industrial entities to accomplish the goals of the College. Manage a portfolio of corporations, organizations, and industries that includes building new relationships and maintaining existing relationships for the purpose of creating and enhancing: internships/Co-Ops, alumni relations, student recruitment, College Board of Advisors participation, research projects, philanthropy, K-12 STEM outreach and other mechanisms that support and maintain enduring relationships.

Implement and manage a comprehensive development plan and corporate relations strategy focused on expanding and enhancing corporate connections for the College and developing College philanthropy. Identify, assess, prepare, and present proposals to existing and potential corporate supporters on behalf of the College. Work with appropriate personnel in the College, Development and Alumni Relations, and University to execute strategies and develop concept papers for submission.  Prepare briefings and gather essential background materials for leadership.

Collaborate with colleagues in Office of Development and Alumni Relations, and Career Development Center to draft reports, develop research profiles, prepare proposals and grant submissions for companies and industries, stay apprised of University priorities, and provide guidance on activities that advance the College. Ensure that corporate partners and donors are stewarded for their support and that strong relationships are maintained.

Collaborate with Faculty in the College of Engineering and University Leadership to develop a firm understanding of College and University research and education goals to provide partnership agendas to companies and industries and ultimately work with Faculty and University Leadership to prepare proposals for research, education and outreach programs.
